C. Lowell Ball, Managing Member

Lowell Ball has over 25 years of experience in complex commercial real estate and corporate matters. Over the past 15 years, he served as General Counsel to a variety of real estate development, investment and operating companies, including the U.S. real estate arm of a large Dutch pension fund, an international property management and leasing company, a publicly listed, national home builder and a regional developer of office, multifamily and mixed use projects. Prior to serving as a corporate legal officer, Mr. Ball practiced for 10 years in the commercial real estate departments of two premier Atlanta firms – Sutherland, Asbill & Brennan and Long & Aldridge.

Mr. Ball received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a Morehead Scholar. He graduated with Honors from UNC School of Law where he served as Research Editor of The North Carolina Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.

Mr. Ball has written and spoken at numerous professional and business conferences on topics ranging from partnerships to real estate environmental issues to construction defect issues in residential construction. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, BOMA, NAIOP and other legal and industry trade groups. He has also served as a member of the General Counsels Roundtable of the National Association of Home Builders.

Edward L. (Ned) Ball - Of Counsel

(Licensed in North Carolina and Texas; Not Licensed in Georgia)

Ned Ball has over 27 years of experience in commercial and real estate matters with a particular concentration in retail leasing and shopping center issues. Prior to forming his own practice, Ned served as inside counsel for major retailers including Federated Department Stores, Pier 1 Imports and Food Lion where he drafted and negotiated hundreds of retail leases and handled a variety of other commercial issues. In his private practice, he represents shopping center owners and developers as well as local and regional tenants and national big box retailers.

Ned maintains his independent practice from offices in Raleigh, North Carolina although his practice is a national one. He also serves as Of Counsel to The Ball Commercial Law Firm. He is licensed to practice law in both North Carolina and Texas. Ned received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He graduated with Honors from UNC School of Law where he served on The North Carolina Law Review.

Ned is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and a number of other legal and business trade organizations.
